Brooklyn, New York, June 7, 2012 RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a national leader in providing high-quality, cost-effective, fixed-site outpatient diagnostic imaging services through a network of 232 owned and operated outpatient imaging centers, today reported that it has successfully implemented a Meaningful Use-ready workflow solution suite from eRAD, Inc (a wholly-owned subsidiary of RadNet).

RadNet’s imaging centers in Brooklyn, New York have implemented a new RIS (Radiology Information System), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and report-generation solution featuring M*Modal’s natural language understanding technology. These completely integrated solutions are certified as a full ambulatory EHR (Electronic Health Record) for Meaningful Use, Stage 1. According to the provisions of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009, organizations that are eligible for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program and achieve meaningful use by 2014 will be eligible for incentive payments; those who have failed to achieve that standard by 2015 may be penalized.

Steve Forthuber, RadNet’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Eastern Operations, commented, “We are extremely pleased with the capabilities and ease of use of the eRAD integrated suite of workflow solutions. We are eager to implement eRAD’s workflow solutions across the remaining RadNet imaging centers. The scalability and capabilities of the eRAD solutions will bring to RadNet significant operating and cost benefits.”

David Perry and Jim Connors, leaders of eRAD’s product development efforts, added, “RadNet challenged us to implement workflows that would maximize the productivity of its entire spectrum of caregivers including appointment schedulers, front desk staff, technologists and radiologists. We’ve made commercially available to all customers the solutions implemented at RadNet, and we look forward to engineering further improvements to these solutions in the future.”

Steve Forthuber continued, “Our employees, affiliated radiologists and virtually all other constituents who have been exposed to the eRAD suite of solutions have been pleased with its ease of use, seemingly simple and intuitive interface and customizable capabilities. We expect enhanced productivity and efficiency as a result of eRAD’s solutions. Furthermore, we are excited about the prospects of receiving Meaningful Use incentives.”
