Technology fits provider’s emphasis on next-level service

Greenville, S.C., November 6th, 2018 – eRAD announced today that LStar Imaging has selected a full suite of the company’s imaging workflow solutions—including RIS, PACS, Speech Recognition, Physician and Patient Portals, and RADAR, which is eRAD’s platform for secure healthcare communication.

eRAD is a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc., and a leading provider of workflow solutions for busy imaging centers, hospitals, and medical group radiology departments, as well as for teleradiology providers.

LStar, set to open in New Braunfels, Texas, in January of 2019, aims to “serve tomorrow’s medicine” by creating a different experience for both patients and referring physicians. “It starts with the first interaction,” said Angie Burger, Executive Director of LStar Imaging. “Making information available, making it easy to schedule, performing outreach to strengthen those relationships. We can attain those goals with eRAD tools. They were the most technologically advanced of the many, many vendors we examined.”

LStar specializes in women’s imaging and will have a spa-like atmosphere, with comfortable robes, a fireplace, coffee bar, and other amenities. That attention extends to LStar’s imaging equipment—3D mammography, ultrasound with 4D capabilities, and other advanced modalities—and to the way it leverages I.T.

“When the patient can schedule their own appointment online, when the physician can access reports with images immediately, when we can easily run custom reports to know exactly what’s happening—all of this creates optimal healthcare,” said Burger. “The efficient sharing of accurate information directly results in lower-cost, high-quality care.”

LStar is working with hospitals in the community to modernize the way clinical data is shared, so that patients have the option of receiving services in an outpatient setting without any concerns about continuity of care.

“Information sharing is one of the hurdles we’re trying to get through as an industry, and I see it easily attained with a tool like eRAD,” Burger said. “eRAD really was the one-stop shop. It had everything I was looking for.”

“We are extremely honored to be part of LStar’s solution for the community,” said Seth Koeppel, Senior VP of Sales at eRAD. “We believe our suite of radiology workflow tools will enable LStar to build a strong reputation for high-quality imaging and premier service. It’s always exciting to be part of a disruptive change. LStar certainly has the strategy and know-how to enact a change in how both patients and referring physicians experience imaging. They’re going to take full advantage of all the features eRAD has to offer.”
