Fully cloud based medical imaging services solution enables strong focus on business goals.

Greenville, SC., September 19, 2013 – ProDocs Teleradiology, based in Bogart, Ga., has successfully deployed eRAD technology to support its growing presence as a radiology service provider in the southeastern U.S.

eRAD, a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions, provided a combination of applications and services, including Cloud-based hosting and Speech Recognition, to help ProDocs realize its goals for future growth.

“Working with ProDocs from inception through go-live is proof once again that eRAD’s Cloud-based service offering is an ideal and affordable way for small- to medium-size radiology groups to enter the distributed reading/Teleradiology service provider market,” said Seth Koeppel, eRAD Senior Vice-President of Sales. “Many facilities, in communities all over the country, want access to quality and timely imaging interpretations. Thanks to eRAD, groups like ProDocs can access images from surrounding hospitals, medical group practices and outpatient facilities to deliver that coverage.”

“We had one hospital connected, up and running, in less than two hours, said Dr. Josh Blackmon, Medical Director of ProDocs. “Implementation was very smooth.”

Using eRAD’s Cloud Solution, ProDocs is able to avoid significant upfront capital costs or complex technology hurdles and instead take advantage of eRAD’s investment in workflow tools and infrastructure. The burdens of maintaining and upgrading software and hardware have been eliminated. ProDocs securely acquires images from the transmitting sites and can read and report from anywhere.

According to Blackmon, “If a doctor is on vacation but still wants to look at reports, he can get them on his iPhone. That ability to view reports from anywhere is important. It makes a difference in the service we provide to our referring physicians. With just an internet connection, you can read from multiple hospitals, which is a big workflow plus.”

eRAD’s Speech Recognition also streamlined ProDocs’ workflow. “We have pre-set templates for our preliminary reports, so it makes self-editing that much easier,” said Blackmon.

“eRAD continues to prove a solid image exchange backbone for facilities and radiologists across the world,” said Koeppel. “Our technology is meeting a real need, and we’re pleased to be able to partner with groups like ProDocs and enable them to serve their clients effectively.”
