Innovative solutions enable practice to scale out.
Greenville, S.C., November 18, 2014 – All Med, an urgent care practice operating full-service, walk-in health care in Alabama’s River Region, has deployed eRAD PACS as part of its overall strategy to bring quality medical treatment to patients.
eRAD, a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions, installed its PACS on a virtualized/cloud based infrastructure for All Med. The eRAD system enables the practice to manage a distributed network of acquisition sites as well as off-site radiologists.
Reynold Yordy, VP and Chief Information Officer at All Med, said, “The significant factor was that eRAD has satellite gateways that allow us to have a full local PACS experience at a remote location while still centralizing the archiving and management of the data.”
Underscoring the strength of its distributed architecture, eRAD provides flexible viewing options for All Med. “eRAD’s HTML5 viewer allows us to view studies across any platform—not necessarily for diagnostic purposes but so that we can get access to it from anywhere. That’s a key driver,” Yordy said.
All Med facilities focus on Urgent Care, Primary Care, Women’s Health, and Chronic Disease Prevention/Management, and it is constantly adding more modalities to better serve its patients. “The larger goal is to grow our footprint here and in other metropolitan areas while still using the same PACS,” said Yordy. “We needed a web-based system to handle that, and eRAD met our requirements. We were looking for a platform that we knew could grow with us as we scale out.”
Seth Koeppel, Senior VP of Sales at eRAD, said, “Urgent care centers require fast and reliable management of images that are often read by radiologists located off-site. That requires the images to be transmitted to the cloud, and reports returned to All Med’s EMR in near real-time, as if the radiologist was sitting down the hall. All Med’s previous system couldn’t offer this level of performance and reliability. We are pleased that they turned to eRAD to assist them with this critical installation.”
