Landmark Practice Deploys Complete Outsourcing Solution.

Greenville, SC, November 7, 2013 – eRAD, a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RDNT), a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions, announced today that Medical Radiologists, Inc., has deployed eRAD technology to support its growing teleradiology business.

Medical Radiologists, Inc. (MRI), a private practice based in Dayton, Ohio, is one of the oldest radiology groups in the U.S. and has provided uninterrupted imaging services since the 1920s. “We have longevity in part due to how we adapt to changes in healthcare,” said Dr. Aakash Singh, Vice President of Operations for MRI. “We always strive to stay on top of best practices and new technology, and the choice to go with eRAD is in line with that commitment.”

MRI and other community-based practices now have to respond to trends in predatory radiology and find new ways to expand services locally. That means running their own systems—to cover nighttime calls at affiliated hospitals and to collect studies from the medical groups and outpatient providers they serve.

“Our cloud-based service is ideal for groups like MRI,” said Seth Koeppel, Vice President of Sales for eRAD. “They are professional organizations that work at multiple hospitals, and developing their own infrastructure isn’t an efficient use of resources. eRAD offers a complete outsourcing solution, from a single vendor, so they get a feature-rich application layer without having to manage the IT. It’s plug-and-play.”

MRI can acquire images from its various hospitals, imaging centers and providers it serves—all using disparate systems—while its radiologists read and report from a single, unified worklist. “The difference in our workflow is significant,” Dr. Singh said. “Not having to switch to different reporting formats, not having to learn and log into multiple systems—all that expands the possibilities for our practice and speeds our turnaround times.”

eRAD’s cloud technology is a long-term solution for MRI, as it scales as the practice grows. “We’ve been adapting for 90 years,” said Dr. Singh. “As we move into teleradiology, eRAD gives us the tools we need to do what we do best—focus on patient care.  We don’t have to worry about uptime. It’s just always reliable.”
